Malik malik@ung.ac.id Ellyana Hinta Ellyana.hinta@ung.ac.id
This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of an integrated Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and e-learning model in enhancing students’ literary analysis skills in the Literary Theory and Criticism course. The study is grounded in the identified gap between students’ conceptual understanding of literary theory and their ability to apply it critically in textual analysis. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design with a mixed-method approach, the research was conducted in the English Literature Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo. The development process followed the ADDIE framework, encompassing the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Nine fourth-semester students participated in a limited trial using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through validation sheets, classroom observations, reflective journals, and literary analysis essay tests. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normalized gain (N-Gain), and paired-sample t-tests, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the developed model meets three essential criteria of educational product quality: validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Expert validation results demonstrate high levels of content and construct validity. The implementation of the model revealed strong student engagement and positive responses toward digitally supported collaborative learning. Statistical analysis shows a significant improvement between pretest and posttest scores, with high N-Gain categories across all indicators. The integration of PBL and e-learning fosters student-centered learning, critical thinking, collaborative inquiry, and the strengthening of digital literacy skills.
2026-03-29T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 atiq atiq, Hassanuddin Fatsah, Harto S. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with field observation techniques and in-depth interviews with pineapple farmers in the area. The results of the study indicate that the lexicon used is divided into three main categories, namely nouns, verbs, and adjectives, with the dominance of nouns in terms of tools and land parts, and verbs in the cultivation process. In terms of meaning, the lexicon is divided into five classifications, namely the pineapple planting process, planting period, tools, pineapple fruit conditions, and land parts. This study reveals the richness of local culture and traditional knowledge recorded in the Kubu Raya Malay lexicon, and shows that pineapple farming terms reflect the physical and social environment of the local farming community. These findings are expected to be used as documentation and revitalization materials for regional languages, as well as contribute to the development of ethnolinguistic theory in Indonesia.
2026-04-22T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Sutriyadi Sutriyadi https://lp3mzh.id/index.php/asmaraloka/article/view/645 A CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS OF INFLECTIONAL MORPHOLOGY IN THE INDONESIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES 2026-04-13T01:37:32+00:00 Zainuddin Zainuddin zainuddintutik@gmail.com Moch. Subhan Yahya Subhan yahyae.moch@gmail.com
: This article examines the comparison of inflectional morphology systems between the Indonesian language and the English language, aiming to identify structural and functional differences in the formation of grammatical meaning in verbs and nouns. The study employs a documentary research method by collecting data from Indonesian and English language corpora. The data are analyzed using a descriptive-comparative approach based on structural morphology theory and language typology. The findings reveal that English has a productive and complex inflectional system in which word forms change obligatorily to indicate tense, person, and number. In contrast, Indonesian is primarily analytic and does not formally employ inflection. Instead, it relies on contextual information, auxiliary words, and other morphological processes such as reduplication to convey similar grammatical meanings. The discussion highlights that these differences reflect the fundamental typological characteristics of both languages. Furthermore, they influence sentence structure, meaning-making strategies, and practical applications in language learning and translation. English speakers must pay close attention to grammatical markers embedded in word forms, whereas Indonesian speakers depend more heavily on syntactic context and lexical cues. These distinctions also create challenges for second-language learners, particularly when transferring grammatical patterns from one language to another. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of understanding cross-morphological structures in linguistic research as well as in intercultural language applications, especially for improving comparative linguistic analysis, effective language pedagogy, accurate translation practices, and broader cross-cultural communication in multilingual contexts.
2026-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 zai zai, Moch.
